How Christianity spread throughout rome
Paul, a Jew, had a vision where Jesus spoke to him and because of this, he became a Christian and a missionary. Paul's journey as a missionary took him many places where he stressed that Jesus was the son of god and that everyone was a child of God and that Jesus was the Messiah. Some of these visits caused riots because of angry Jews. Paul stressed that Jesus was the son of god and that everyone were God's children and that Jesus was the Messiah. Paul had been arrested for preavhin the christian ways, but still wrote letters to other Christians to spread the word of God.
Missionary’s traveled around Rome, using the roads to get from place to place, to preach about Christianity. The Romans made the practice of Christianity illegal, because they saw it as a threat to the Roman society, and anyone who practiced this religion would be harshly persecuted. The persecutions did not make people abandon this religion, instead people had more respect for the Christians because they faced death bravely and taught that even the miserable could look forward to a life in paradise if they followed the teachings of Jesus.Slowly, people began to adopt this religion and by 300 C.E., almost 30 million Christians of all social classes lived in Roman lands. In 313 C.E., Emperor Constantine announced the Edict of Milan, which gave Christians freedom to practice their religion openly, other emperors accepted the new faith later on, and soon Christianity was the official religion of the entire Roman empire.
